Discover the different dynastic styles of Chinese Imperial/Official Court Dress from the early dynasties up to the Qing period
when Dragon Robes became the official attire of the Imperial Court. Independent Textile & Ethnographic Conservator, Karen Horton will discuss their construction and materials, as well as the different types and styles of robes worn by the emperor and the significance and meaning attributed to the different colour silks used for the robes and their embroidered and woven auspicious symbols.
